– Reading and Northern 2014+ w/ Interior Lights and Lit Marker Lights is a great example of a former ERIE ICC caboose in service today.  Reading and Northern (or more formally, Reading Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad) is a regional railroad that operates in eastern Pennsylvania.  The RBMN operates a small fleet of cabooses, including two former ERIE ICC 1953 examples.  We chose RBMN 92847 for this release.  Purchased from Conrail, our model exhibits all of the CR modifications you would expect: the walkway has been removed, but the support brackets remain.  The antenna and ground plane were removed.  The ends were rebuilt to match the CR sister N7 ex PC/NYC class.  But RBMN removed the end CR-style FRA light and restored the Erie Lackawanna-style side marker light boxes (now that’s officially cool!).  The RBMN also restored the end window that used to be blanked by the oil bunker.  Somewhere along the way, the Conrail-era 70-Ton Barber Roller Bearing Caboose Trucks have been swapped to plain bearing 70-Ton Caboose Trucks.  We have faithfully duplicated this on the model.  For lighting, this RBMN replica is equipped with “golden” interior lights, mimicking the incandescent bulbs of the real cabooses along with lit side box marker lights.  A wand is included to operate the lights – easy with no fuss!   We are offering this Reading and Northern 2014+ in one exact number.
