Description

Southern Pacific (SP) in the gray “Houston repaint” scheme from the later 1970s!  These cars – available in 12 road numbers – feature the distinctive large “Southern Pacific” centered on the car in black, as well as the bright yellow box with legible “Interior Coated for Edible or Chemical Commodity” lettering.  SP cars still operate on UP rails, and Tangent Scale Models offers research prints and decal sets to weather and/or restencil your model to your liking.  SP ordered very similar 3920cc hoppers from Pullman-Standard, which are virtually identical to the PS-2CD 4000.
