– Rock Island (RI) “Delivery 1969 Red” replicates the RI’s order for 10 cars built in October of 1969 by Greenville Steel Car Company.  This RI model example uses Tangent’s latest Greenville Body: A late-1969 combination of End-Of-Car Cushioning (EOCC), drop-style grab irons on the corners of the sides and the raised jacking tabs on the sill near the steps.  RI modelers, this is why we asked you to be patient.  We wanted to execute this paint scheme accurately!  The B-End of the car is equipped with a Peacock/Elcon-National 1600 brake stand and modern brake wheel.  The EOCC underframe has truck-mounted brake gear details and the 100-Ton “Low Profile” Barber S-2-A trucks have accurate rotating “Brenco-6” roller bearing caps.  All of these model features match the prototype cars.  Tangent’s Industry-Leading graphics shine here with carefully replicated RI lettering, from the big “ROCK ISLAND” on the right to the oval slogan “cushion car- A SOFT TOUCH for freight” on the left.  This scheme is HOT.  The return route lettering, CAPY, dates and other fine data is car-number and photo specific!  SKU -01 has a return route to B&OCT Chicago Heights, IL, SKU -02 has a return route to PC Railroad Bedford, OH, SKU -03 has a return route to B&OCT Chicago Heights, IL and SKU -04 has a return route to DT&I Fordhaven, MI and related WSP lettering for the Woodhaven Stamping Plant.
